Aid for Nicaragua after Nate

€6,526 of €25,000 goal

On Wednesday 5th October, tropical storm Nate hit Nicaragua in Central America and ripped through the pacific side of Nicaragua.  Horrific flash floodings and winds have left a big number of people without homes and the very basic living requirements like food and cloths. Nicaragua is the second poorest country on the Western hemisphere.

People lost everything for what they worked their whole lives. Without your support they will not be able to have a home for their families and start rebuilding.

There are over one hundred destroyed homes just in Limon 1 and 2 and we still don´t have the exact numbers yet. Homes got ripped away completly or left destroyed. Many people got sick and are still missing! There is a horrendous number of homeless people waiting for food and supplies.

The harvest is completly destroyed and the groundwater not anymore drinkable due to floodwater contamination.

We (Dennis and Saskia Nadi) are owning a small boutique Hotel in this area called Meson Nadi and we are contractors in the area of  Tola. We are both from Germany and Dennis is familiar with this area of Nicaragua since 10 years. We started the project Meson Nadi about 4 years ago and finally opened our doors last year. Meson Nadi has around 20 employees . They are mostly locals from this area and terribly affected from Nate.

We did the first food deliveries and saw the frightening destruction of the homes and the loos they suffer.

Right now there are over 3000 homeless people just in our area!

If someone want to come to Nicaragua and support us please feel free to get in touch with us. Every help is needed!!!!  Right now there is still no power and no internet connection but we hope that these problems are going to be solved soon to update you permanently.

We are going to use the funds to buy the following things:
- Food
- Drinking water
- Milk powder
- Cloths
- Rebuilding of the homes
- Gas to cook
- Cookers
- Cooking supplies
- Beds
- Transportation
- Cleaning supplies
- Medicine

- 100 % of every donation goes directly to the community

- Under 1000 Euro ist enough to buy all the materials that are needed to completly rebuild a simple home for an affected family

- Around 300 Euro will be enough to purchase all the materials to repair a house

- 50 Euros is enough to feed a whole family for a week

We have to help! Let us do this and support us to help them immediately.

In just 12 hours we raised 3000 USD we can´t believe it. Thanks to everyone! Thank you so much. This means everything right now.

Clemens a Team Member from Meson Nadi is on it´s way from Austria with suitcases full of donated supplies (shoes, cloths) and will do another stop in Managua to get more food and water. We also organised a second truck to do all the driving to get supplies.

Ernesto our Manager of Meson Nadi is on it´s way to check how everyone from our Staff is doing. It is hard to access the houses because of the destroyed streets. But a lot of them lost their homes and left without shelter.

We are trying to get the generator running at Meson Nadi to offer shelter for them and we will send already construction workers to the first houses in the next two days to start rebuilding.

We will keep you posted when we receive the first photos. Sadly but true no-one has power so we can hardly reach them. We hope the government will fix the electricity lines asap.
