Ahmed Yakot

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (SAW)said, ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity),  or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’. (Muslim) —————————————————————— Ina lilahi wa ina ilaihi ra’jun On January 1, 2020, Ahmed Yakot’s life was tragically taken in a senseless and unjust act of violence. He was 21 years old. He had his whole life ahead of him. He had dreams that he now will never be able to explore.   Ahmed was a son, a brother and a friend to many. The loss of his life has been deeply felt by not only his family but by the community he was raised in. From the outside, he was a quiet and reserved young brother, but if you had the honour of knowing him during his life you would know that he was loving, caring, motivated and had the ability to light up a room with his smile. In honour of his life and his memory, we would like to allow Ahmed to continue to earn good deeds through the act of charity by digging wells in  communities who are in need. Specifically, the project will allow a communities to access clean water used for drinking, washing and cooking and keeping livestock hydrated. This project is a gift we are collectively able to give on behalf of our dear brother Ahmed. The money will go to his father Adel Yakot which will then be donated on behalf of Ahmed as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah. He has touched the lives of many of us, even those who did not know him, and has inspired us to do good while we still have the chance.
