Anyone who knows John Swanson knows a steady strong and servant spirit. He and his wife have 5 kids and 9 grand babies. He is always quick to help those who need it. And now it’s our turn to help him. A little background on why we’re raising money. Four months ago, John had a heart attack. It came out of no where with no warning. He is a healthy 60 year old who is physically active. After the heart attack, they put in a stent and he was sent home. He went to physical therapy, changed his diet, and took the medication but his heart has continued to deteriorate. In February, he was admitted to the hospital to remove fluid that was building up around his lungs (a job of the hearts). They were able to remove a significant amount of fluid. He began to feel worse and was moved to Lincoln to the Heart Hospital. Here they informed the family that he was in heart failure. The best course of action was to get a transplant. But in the mean time a pump (LVAD) would need to be used to get him through till there was a heart available. The cardiologist in Lincoln worked hard and got him into UNMC in Omaha. John is the ideal candidate for a transplant. Other than his heart, he is completely healthy. The doctor said things can move fast. .With all these big things needed the price tag in daunting. They tried to get the pump (LVAD) donated. But they said “No”. And the insurance that John has has also said they would not cover it or a transplant. The LVAD is $600,000. Transplant is $900,000. Because of not being able to do this financially, he has been sent home with IV medication and a defibrillator installed in his chest. The hope would be to find a way to get the pump and the transplant. It’s overwhelming. But we know and have a God that is not overwhelmed. This money is nothing to God. All that we have is from Him. We trust Him and His plan and His timing. Please join us in constant praying but also give what you can to them.

John Swanson Update and Request for Prayer

This Week John’s heart and health have been declining. He went in Monday for a check up appointment. At this appointment, because of the shortness of breath he has been experiencing and other symptoms, his doctor didn’t think it would be safe for him to go back home. He has been admitted to back to UNMC. He needs the LVAD, but we are in a waiting game until the new insurance begins.

The Swanson's new insurance goes into effect April 1, so our hope is that April 2, He will get the LVAD put in. We will know more as these days go by what they can do once insurance gives them the green light.

This week in the hospital is what this GoFund and money raised is for. Please consider giving to this wonderful family to help cover these medical expenses.

We are trusting the Lord and his timing. All of this is in His hands and he knows exactly what will happen.

Prayer requests:
Pray for Johns heart to stay strong and for his body to hold tight these 5 more days.
Pray for the insurance company and hospital to get everything ready so come Monday morning first thing- John can get the pump.
Pray for the Swanson family to keep their eyes on Jesus and to trust him during this uncertainty.

Please share this update and spread the word. Above all join us in seriously praying fervently for John and this week to pass without any complications.

John Swanson Update!

After only 2 weeks, we are at almost 80%. Y’all are amazing. What a truly overwhelming and humbling gift this is! The appreciation the Swanson family feels is so great! Know that each of you has been prayed for by name for this blessing you have given.

Recently, there have been a few questions raised on why the amount we're raising isn’t for the full amount of pump and transplant. I wanted to take a minute and clear this up. When this was set up, there was hopeful options about a new insurance, It looks like this will happen! Keeping most of the details private, but wanting to tell those of you that care and love this family, this insurance will start April 1. This should help with the big expenses of the pump and transplant. This GoFund and other fundraisers will be what the Swanson family leans on to help with the other expenses pre-new insurance.

Because of your gifts, we wanted to tell you what the money will be used for. I’m sure if any one of you could voice your thoughts, you’d agree that your gift comes with no limit on what it can be used for. But for transparency sake here are a few ways the money will be used:
-John has had 5 hospital stays.
-IV Meds
-Other medical expenses that have been accruing before this new insurance starting April 1

Through all of this, its important to share with you all. That our HOPE is in the Lord. Romans 15:13 says "Our hope comes from God. May He fill you with joy and peace because of your trust in Him.” Through the unknowns, Our Trust is in the Lord who knows exactly how this is all going to turn out.

Specific Prayer Requests:
Healing for John.
John, Sarah, and family will be encouraged and strengthen from the the Lord
The new insurance will go smoothly with the future needs.
