Raise the Roof for Agape

When you or a loved one are faced with mental illness, where do you turn?

If you’re like most in our community, you may not know what services exist or where you can find help. Agape Outreach Homes is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which provides housing and care for men with severe persistent mental illness.  Agape is a Greek word meaning “unconditional love”, and Agape Outreach Homes exists to extend this love to our clients and community.  When an individual comes to live at Agape, we not only show and teach about family,  we become family.  Through the years we have seen our family grow with great success.  We have seen men move on to live independently and begin fresh new lives.

What do we do?

Agape Outreach Homes is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has been providing housing and care for mentally ill men for more than 33 years in Tennessee. At Agape, we serve 24 adult men through education/training in the home with all daily living skills (cooking, cleaning, medication management, etc.), and partner with a day treatment program that offers classes about their mental illness, coping skills, and much more. Also offered are opportunities to acquire a GED, get a job, or even attend college.  Once a resident completes the program, Agape Outreach Homes helps with their transition to independent living into the community. Our program at Agape Outreach Homes provides a solution for the mentally ill through housing, effective treatment, education/training, and support with a holistic approach that prevents homelessness and hospitalization.

How can you help?

Many of the men that come to Agape have been homeless or hospitalized and in need of a home.  Agape Outreach Homes is a answer for these men by  providing housing and care.  A way you can show love is to help us with a needed repair on one of our houses.  The "Garden House" has a roof that is over 18 years old and needs to be replaced.  The roof has already shown signs of leaking which can cause damage to the roofing structure and the house interior.   Our solution is to tear off the existing roof and install a new roof which we have a quote for $8,000.  Please help us raise the funds to provide a new roof for these men.
