Africa School Build 2018 - Grizz

Hi! My name is Grizz. You may have seen me around Pemberton or on the Bus to Whistler where I work. You may have guessed, but I'll let you know I'm blind. Being blind has never stopped me from doing anything, and with some great friend like James Linklater, I have been able to give back to the community where I live. I am a very active member of the Pemberton Lions Club. You may have seen me helping at Canada Day BBQ, The Pemberton Barn Dance, or Dining in the Dark an event I host to raise money to flight blindness. 

This year I am raising money to build a school in Lesotho Africa in November 2018, with the Pemberton Lions Club. As a club and with the help of the Summit Lodge Hotel we have raised about $13,000 already.  As a group, we will need to raise around $30,000 for this project. 

You may ask how can a blind guy help build a school? Well, I'll tell you last year I helped on a school build in Mexico, it was really scary flying to a different country where people didn't speak English.  However with the help of my other Lion's I was able to really get in there and work. I dug a large hole for the base of the building, I helped paint all the walls. I was there for all the heavy lifting and moving of building material. I even had time to save my friend Tony Medd when he almost fell off a ladder. 

There will be 8 off us building this school from Pemberton. We do this because we believe education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. We can all do our part in helping the world be a better place. Please help me fundraise.
