Both Parents Fighting Cancer

Donation protected
Originally  I had set up an account for our loving father after he was being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma which is a blood cancer. Finding out that he had this cancer intially broke our hearts since we were told that it is currently incurable. However, we also found hope when we were told that patients are able to have there life extended for up to ten years or more through having a stem cell bone marrow transplant. It was with this news that ten years or more to continue to watch his children and grandchildren grow became my fathers greatest wish.
Unfortunately, loosing the ability to work , having to undergo strenious medical procedures and the need for a  bone marrow transplant began to get outrageously expensive. At first we thought we would be able to lean on the VA since my father is a Vietnam Vet and Multiple Myeloma is on the list for Agent Orange exposure.  Unfortunately, he was on a Navy Aircraft Carrier and these Vets still do not recieve the help that others do. Determined to get through this and unsure of how we would find the means to pay the bills our spirits began to be lifted as people began to generously donate to our Dad's GoFund page.
We knew that the road would be tough but we were never prepared for the devestation we felt when our Mother was diagnosed with Stage III  Breast Cancer and one of the most aggresive kinds. It was a blow to our family that some of us still can not comprehend! Two parents 63 and 65 diagnosed. To make matters worse my mother who has been the sole provider for the family since my dad got sick would now have to have a masectomy and reconstructive surgery. After this procedure she will be undergoing  chemo and radiation unitl December 2016.  This will leave my mother unable to work. The scariest part is that my mother  does not have long term disability and her medical insurance was based weekly on how many hours she worked so she most likely end up loosing her medical insurance.
Therefore, we have set up a new account in hopes that others would be willing to help our parents in anyway they can.
We can not do this alone and appreciate any added care whether it is through donations, sharing their story, or simply leaving words of encouragement. Nothing is too small!
