Cancer is a disease that touches the lives of every person on some level. For friends and family directly related to someone that has been diagnosed, the financial and emotional burden can seem insurmountable.
STRIPES OF A WARRIOR began as a blog created by best friends and neighbors Mindy and Tara. Mindy, diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 29, is now in remission after undergoing 336 days of chemo, radiation, and associated care. Tara has seen the hardships and loss that cancer creates as a friend and family member to those affected.
We will create a nonprofit organization that will help spread awareness through social media and local events. STRIPES OF A WARRIOR will give a voice to individual’s by sharing their personal stories and struggles. We will organize fundraisers that will directly offer financial assistance to individuals and families that are experiencing hardship after a cancer diagnosis.
We hope to build a community of support for families and help those around them see that there is a “silver lining” after a cancer diagnosis. As a WARRIOR, one may earn their STRIPES though the scars and hardships of the journey, but it is not what will define you. They are only a reminder of the WARRIOR that you have become.
Help us create an organization that will raise money, support and hope that will go directly into the hands of those individuals affected by cancer. By supporting our mission, you will positively impact the lives of those at a time when they need help the most.
