Adika's trip to Senegal
I ask for help as I want to make a lasting impact towards the end of my university career. The first week of May, some athletes and coaches of the mens basketball team at Ryerson will be travelling to Senegal to participate in the annual Hoop Forum courtesy of SEEDS. With your help I will be able to attend this trip for a week where I can work with future athletes and learn leadership skills for the future.
For those who do not know, the SEEDS (Sports for Education and Economic Development) project in Dakar, Senegal is designed to increase school retention and graduation rates, while providing underserved youth new educational and leadership development experiences.
Being apart of the Ryerson Men's basketball team for the last four years I know how important it is to give back to the community. Whether it was helping with Rising Rams or working summer basketball camps, my joy and passion to give back to the community was always reflected by how happy these kids were.
Making this trip to Senegal would mean the world to me. This would be the last trip I represent Ryerson and the most important as I will be able to pay it forward.
Thanks again, and lets pay it forward.
