Adam was taken to the hospital on Saturday after he began coughing up blood and unable to breathe. Once in the hospital it was discovered that he has multiple blood clots in his lungs and 1 in his heart.

Adam does have health insurance but as we all know it will only cover so much and in their case they will be left with most of those bills. They have recently purchased their first home, which they are closing on next week. Since Adam is unable to work right now Mindi is having to continue to work and is not able to be there at the hospital with Adam.

We are hoping to raise enough money that can help eliminate some of those financial stresses and burdens so that Adam is able to heal and Mindi can be there with him.

I know we have all had questions about my husbands death and why it was misdiagnosed. I got a call today from Dr. Curr at UCSD she said what Adam had was called epithelioid hemangioendothelioma which is a very very rare tumor and very aggresive. This rare tumor was the first that UCSD has seen and they see a lot. She believes the tumor started in Adams heart and worked its way to his lungs. I asked her why they all thought it was blood clots and she said because tumors and blood clots look the same in an MRI and all of Adams symptoms were the same as if he had only blood clots. Adam did have a few blood clots but the majority in his lungs were tumors. They did ask if they could Journal this so the medical field can learn from it and I said absolutely please do. Now next question how, why and when did my husband end up with this very rare tumor?? Im going to not try and become obsessed with these findings so if anyone wants to research it and make people more aware please feel free to. Love you all for staying by my side through this difficult time.

Adam obtained the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 14, while living in Meridian, Idaho. He graduated from Blue Ridge High School in Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona in 1998. Adam was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a church mission in the Oregon Eugene mission.

After his mission he married Theresa Whitehead and welcomed daughter Trinity while living in Mesa, Arizona. This marriage ended in divorce in 2005. He later met and married Mindi Lynn Gull in 2016 and welcomed a son Brennan into their family a year later.

Adam had a fun and dynamic personality. Laughter was the hallmark of his life. His favorite interests were cars, snowmobiling, riding watercrafts, and football.

His family would like to thank all of the medical personnel that attended to Adam in the IHC hospital in St. George and the University of California San Diego Health hospital in San Diego, California for their compassionate and professional care. Tonight, January 15, 2019 at 8:07 pm pst Adams fight ended and he was released from all the pain.

Surgery started at around 8:15 am the doctors were all very optimistic about the outcome. Once the doctors opened him up immediately they knew they were dealing with something much much worse than blood clots....TUMORS. The tumors were spread throughout his lungs and heart. The doctors did not want to give up and were successful at removing some of the tumors but there were too many.

Mindi was able to spend his last breathes with him holding his hand. They had removed him from the machines and immediately his heart rate started dropping. It would get down to 80 and spike up to 102. His heart rate fluctuated like this for about 3-4 mins. Mindi stood from her chair gave Adam one last kiss on his forehead, must have been what he was waiting for because his heart stopped and he was gone.

Mindi has allowed the doctors to perform an autopsy on him. The type of sarcoma that Adam had was an extremely rare and aggressive cancer. They want to find out where else it may have spread in his body but also to learn/study it. We only hope that because of Adam and the research the doctors will now do that it may save another persons life or in the very least prolong it.

Thank you all for your prayers and donations! They are needed now more than ever as Mindi starts the process of funeral arrangements and being a single mom.

Talking to Adam’s nurses today he is improving a lot. His kidneys and liver are repairing themselves as well as all his other organs. They were able to take him off a few medications today. They are going to keep Adam in a medically induced coma until his surgery to give his body some rest. As long as he continues to improve like he is they are planning on doing the surgery we have all been hoping and praying for on Tuesday. The surgery will be an all day surgery.

We would all like to thank everyone for the donations and prayers it has lifted a huge burden especially off of Mindi. She is able to be with Adam in San Diego and not have to worry about being at work. #AdamStrong❤️
