Act of Love Rescue (Norco, CA)

Tax deductible
ACT OF LOVE RESCUE, a federally tax exempt charitable nonprofit corporation headquartered in Norco, California, has provided a home for many small dogs (mostly Chihuahuas) that have been at risk for sheltering and ultimately, euthanasia.

As a small charity, our Founder/President has personally financed and invested tens-of-thousands of dollars over the past several years to transform her home into a home for over twenty-five (25) dogs, several horses, and goats.  Thus, requiring much food, medicine, and maintenance for a small farm.

Today, we come to you with a medical priority in our friend, "Rascal", who is our five-year-old Poodle mix now struggling with cataracts in both his eyes.  (See the below image of Rascal)

Rascal is one of several dogs now living and learning at the Act of Love Rescue after surviving an early life of abuse and neglect.  If not for his eye issues, Rascal could thrive if he was not at risk for eventual blindness.

See this below image of Rascal at the doctor's office, with his matted fur, when we first rescued him.  The full "before" video can be seen on our Facebook page at;  http://www.Facebook.com/ActofLoveRescue

A "cataract" is an abnormality of the lens in which an opacity or a cloudy change of the tissue prevents light from reaching the retina.  We don't know if Rascal's cataracts are a result of the abuse/neglect he faced in  his earlier life, but we do know that they can be inherited or the result of an injury to the eye, inflammation, or internal diseases.  Sadly, they can, and have developed in both of Rascal's eyes.

This image and the below video are Rascal today;

Since retiring from the police department, our Founder/President (Cheryl C.) has personally financed every aspect of Act of Love Rescue, including medical care.  However, with Rascal's needed cataract surgery costing several thousand dollars, such an investment would be catastrophic to the future care of all other animals living at our rescue.

So, we really need your help.  In an effort to be transparent, please see the below quote and help us raise $2,000 for Rascal's surgery, which will be discounted due to our 501c3 tax exempt status.  Thus, we're confident that we can cover the cost with your help in raising $2,000.

Our approach at Act of Love Rescue (ALR) is to rescue on the basis of "quality of life", and not the quantity of dogs. Thus, we're able to dedicate a reasonable level of attention and rehabilitation as they integrate, and give, and receive love with their new families.

All ALR dogs get a fresh, new start on their life. Our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped with registration, up to date on all vaccines, dental needs, flea treated, and groomed as well. We teach them house manners, potty training, and socialization, but also work on various behavioral issues such as biting, food aggression, digging, chewing, and others.

It is our goal to identify the absolute best matched families for our dogs, and to always educate, even when interracting with non-adopting families.

As a "certified charity", we were incorporated as of February, 2016, now compliant with the Attorney General Charitable Trust as a legal fundraiser in our state, and 501c3/federally tax exempt.  Thus, your kind donation will be tax-deductible.

Also, now with our 501c3 status, we do intend to soon register with the Amazon Smile and Google Charities programs aimed to help small nonprofits fundraise, and the latter of which will allow us to register our domain and finally launch our website for adoptions.

However, Rascal's eyes can't wait, and he doesn't have several weeks to spare if we're going to preserve his vision.  We are aware that many will question our effort to raise and spend thousands of dollars on the health of "just a dog", but with "all of us" donating just a little, your donations will go a very long way in healing a sick pup.

Thank you for your time, attention, and consideration.

                     Sincerely,

                               Act of Love Rescue
