I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) at 26yrs old. After a long and enjoyable career in nursing I had to retire due to my MS. I walk with a stick and use a mobility scooter for longer distances. I am also in considerable pain at all times. As a single mum it is my wish to be ‘there’ for my young son as he grows up rather than for him to care for me more than he already does.
There is now hope that stem cell transplant (HSCT) can halt the progression of the disease process. I have been accepted for this treatment in Moscow on 8th October 2018. It is not available to me, at this time, on the NHS and if I wait until it is my condition will progress and I will become more dependent on my son.
I don’t have time to wait and need to stop the process of the disease now!
Please help me on my journey to get new cells to maintain my health and possibly regain some of the aspects of my health I have already lost.
I am aiming to contribute a significant amount of the cost myself and hoping to raise the rest. The transplant will cost $50,000 and I need other costs for travel and after care if possible.

The Sherwood Rehab unit at Mansfield community hospital will benefit from any additional funds raised to help with the amazing work they do for people with neurological disorders.
