Running a marathon for Heart Link

As I will be in Australia for 2019 and my amazing sister, Catherine, is coming to visit me in September for a holiday, we thought it would be a cool idea to run Sydney marathon and raise money for a charity in the process. The charity we have chosen, which is literally close to heart for us and our family, is Heart Link.  Heart Link is a support group for families who have a child with a heart defect, and fundraise to improve facilities at Leicester children's cardiac centre and provide much needed medical equipment. 

Our awesome nephew Noah, who is an identical twin to his loving brother Ben, was born in 2011 with a congenital heart condition - Tetralogy of Fallot. He wasn't diagnosed until after he was born and underwent multiple checkups in his first months and then a long, successful open-heart operation at Glenfield heart unit at around 18 months of age. He will need further surgery as a young adult but for now he is making the most of being an active 7 year old.

Thanks to the NHS, the team at Glenfield heart unit, and Heart Link for their incredible hard work it has allowed Noah to lead a happy and healthy life.
