Accessible travel for everybody!
Years ago, I (Marlies van Sint Annaland) met a woman in my neighbourhood. She was my age, passionate about travel. We drank coffee and connected easily. That was the first time I heard a wheelchair user explain the daily difficulties to overcome, but especially what it means if she wants to travel.
I decided to do something about it.
Global platform for accessible travel
That’s why I founded Accessible Travel Online (ATO). Initially focusing on hotels and holiday properties (that meet our high standards on accessibility), to inform travelers about their accessible premises. t
Accessibility information needs to be reliable, and should show the special features available. There are already online resources on accessible travel and accommodations, but mostly operating locally or on a very limited scale. It is still quite difficult to find specific information at one location.
ATO is aiming to become that online location, making sure all travelers with disabilities can make the travel choices they want, knowing that accessibility is in order.
In order to get working with our partners all around the world, to set-up a true and dedicated worldwide platform for accessible travel, we need your support.
