On Sunday, March 6, 2016, my sister-in-law Gina Karafa and her husband John along with our niece Kayla arrived home to find their home engulfed in smoke and fire. Two of their three beloved dogs died in the fire. John and the West Homestead Volunteer Fire Company were able to save their chocolate lab Cocoa.  Their home suffered a tremendous amount of fire, smoke and water damage.  My family and I are asking for any help that you can give to help Gina, John and Kayla during this unfortunate  incident.  Any assistance would be more than appreciated to help with the veterinarian costs and devasting loss of many of their personal belongings. If you know Gina and John then you know that they are two of the most loving and giving people around.  All money raised will go directly to the Karafa family to help rebuild their lives.  Please feel free to contact Jenn or Jai directly with any questions you may have. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and God Bless!

John, Kayla, Cocoa and I would like to thank each and every one of you for your kindness and generosity. It will take at least 4 months before our house is redone. Cocoa is doing wonderful and Kayla is so happy! Lady Bug and Curly Q will forever be in our hearts. We are so blessed to have so many angels in our lives. Materialistic things will come and go. Friends like all of you will be there for a lifetime. Love to all of you!

We've known John for a long time. He was there for our boys in baseball and has been a great friend to us through the hard times with passing family members and friends. Our wish is for them to be wrapped in God's love and peace through this time of hardship, as they mourn their beloved dog and the loss of their home and belongings. Your friends are lifting you in prayer. Please let us know what else we can do. Dave and Alice & the kids
