Assist Abeen and his family
Our beloved friend, Abeen Thapa passed away on Saturday, April 22nd, in a swimming accident in Palisades Park in Soiux Falls, SD. He had driven up to the park from Marshall for a weekend trip, along with four of his friends. We have set up this donation page “abeenSings” to help his grieving parents and a younger brother make this tragic loss slightly less, although insignificantly, bearable. All the proceedings from this donation campaign will go directly to Abeen's kin in Nepal to assist them further in whatever decision they may take.
Abeen, 19, was an international student from Nepal pursuing his undergraduate degree in Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall, MN. Every encounter you had with Abeen, you’d almost always remember him singing beautiful songs to you, in his graceful voice. I think it’s safe to say he’d woo you away with it. He was a charmer. Always the first to arrive to the gatherings, always the liveliest one in there. He was always full of desire and eagerness. “Positive”, “vibrant”, “good heart”, “helpful” are the words that come to the lips of the people when remembering Abeen. He was an adherent supporter of Real Madrid, and even more of Ronaldo. He lived as he preached, freely and passionately.
As the cliché goes, “He was a helpful, kind person.” Far from being a cliché, Abeen lived up to it, and the people he touched and left behind are testament to it. He was a driver for the people that needed ride, he was a mentor to the people that needed direction. He was a singer to the gathering that needed entertainment and mostly, he was everything you wanted in a friend. He lived his life freely and with joy. Let him live on in our memory as such.
