Abdabs Youth Theatre is a non-profit making organisation working with young people from rising 5 to 18 years. We work with young people from all walks of life, our mission being to give opportunities to build on Creativity, Confidence, Life Skills, Problem Solving, Perseverance, Focus, Non-verbal & Verbal Communication, Receiving Positive Constructive feedback, Teamwork, Dedication and Accountability.
We are over the moon that our Teens with 'tude group have been selected to take part in The National Theatre Connections Festival in 2019.
A bit about the Connections Project:
Connections is the National Theatre’s nationwide youth theatre festival. Each year it offers a unique opportunity for youth theatres and school theatre groups to stage new plays written for young people by some of theatre’s most exciting playwrights, and to perform in leading theatres across the UK.
Connections 2019 will involve at least 5,000 talented young people from right across the UK, and inspire and entertain audiences with plays for and about young people that are current, challenging and resonant.
Our Teens With 'tude group consists of 11 hardworking, talented teens that urgently need your support. Working hard, some in preparation for their GCSES, they all work their socks off at every rehearsal.
We would therefore like to give them every opportunity to create an exceptional piece of theatre. This would then give them the best chance possible to be selected to perform at the National Theatre, London -THE ULTIMATE GOAL!
As a non-profit making organisation, we are also met with the high costs that putting on a production incurs eg. venue and rehearsal space hire, royalty fees, costume, staging, lighting and sound hire, and the list goes on...
This is where you come in!
If 200 people donated a minimum of 10 pounds, we would be well on the way to achieving our goal.
All the money donated will go towards making this production extra special, and any extra will benefit other projects within the Youth Theatre.
