Branwyn & Adam (medical & family)

Donation protected

My name is Branwyn Bailey, and for those that don't know me, I am a Mexican-food eating, home-school educating, one-man loving, spirit-filled living, Jesus Christ following, woman of God.  Adam is my husband, we have three children (ages 14, 12, and 11), a dog, a cat, and 5 chickens.   We are raising money to cover expenses accumulating while on my journey of battling lymphoma cancer, such as:
~my medical expenses that insurance doesn’t cover,
~to allow for Adam to be off work for several months to be my primary
caregiver (hopefully, starting the last week of October 2016), and
~to help cover costs for those that are taking care of our children while we are
away.
Thank you in advance if you are willing to donate to help us out, but above all else I ask you to pray to God for His continued hand to shine on this journey.  May God bless you as you reach out to the ABC Bailey's in this season of our lives.

Here is more about my story….

First of July 2013 I knew something was wrong, so I made a doctor’s appointment. We discovered that my spleen was more than 2x its normal size which was causing problems with food digestion as it was taking up extra room beside my stomach. We found out mid- July I had non-Hodgkins 'mantle cell' lymphoma and a week later I spent 7 days in the hospital receiving chemo.  Treatment continued for 6 months and it consisted of four hospital stays locally (each 5 to 7 days), where I received chemo treatments basically around the clock. The final step was a hospital stay at Emory that consisted of a self-collection of stem cells, heavy dose of chemo for 5 days, receiving those stem cells back, and the process of healing began while Adam and I stayed at Emory for another 4 weeks so I could be monitored.  December 3rd of that same year, I was released to even go back to church though still having counts monitored for the next several months and had port taken out a few weeks later!

From January 2014 to August 2015, my hair grew back a little darker and I lived life, cancer free.  However, in August 2015, while on vacation, I found a lump in my neck. Upon returning from vacation, I began the process of trying to combat the cancer which had redeveloped.  Treatments this time consisted of chemo pills, radiation, and progressing to day trips to the cancer clinic in Athens for chemo IVs.  Though each time the cancer was knocked back, it became evident that stronger measures would be needed. My doctor prayed with us and thus began the next process. I just finished two, in hospital, three-day chemo treatments, and the next step will be a donor stem cell transplant at Emory, where I will be monitored for 100 days. This is tentatively scheduled to begin late in October 2016 and hope to be home late January 2017.
