Abby needs a home!

All too often, victims of abuse never escape. Those that do find themselves in situations that are just as difficult to navigate. That's where Abby currently finds herself . She took the leap. She filed an order of protection, and left with literally the clothes on her back. She is without employment, as her husband did not want her out of his sight, and certainly did not want her to have means to support herself. She is without a home; bouncing from friend to friend to keep a roof over her head. She has no transportation,  as that was also something he was able to take from her. She has found herself surviving on the mercy of friends, family, and strangers. Accepting hand-me-downs to clothe herself, and help from friends to feed herself.  The road is dark....but light is coming.

She has sent many, resumes, and had a few interviews. She has found an affordable home.......if she can come up with the money needed to pay all those deposits and fees. She has been able to find a vehicle, thanks to the kindness of a stranger. And as soon as she can find an employer, she can begin to rebuild her life. She will literally need EVERYTHING!  From clothes and shoes, to linens, furniture, food and everything in between.

Noone likes to ask for help.  We have all felt the shame and the guilt of asking for a hand up at some point in our lives. That sick feeling you get in the pit of your stomach...just knowing how you are being judged.

I, for one, am proud of her! It takes guts to leave an abuser! Especially when you know you have nowhere to go, and no way to survive. But through the worst days, she has held on to her faith in God. Thanked Jesus daily for the gift of life,  and for the gift of friendship. If you have made it this far, please consider making a donation. No matter how small. Items are also welcomed. Hopefully we can get her set up in a new home, fill that pantry, and rent a uhaul to get what few personal items she has, out of a storage facility.  HE WILL NOT WIN! He will not find her!
