Abbeville Police Officer who was shot on April 3

The Police Association of Lafayette Local #905 has made it one of our missions to help local police officers and their families when they are in need. Last night on April 3, 2019 a police officer in the City of Abbeville was shot in the line of duty. As a result of her injuries, she is expected to be out of work for sometime. Prior to this incident, she was working two full time jobs, one of them being her employment as a police officer. She will be unable to continue to work both of those jobs. Abbeville Police starting pay is below $10.00. Workman’s Comp traditionally pays 65% of that. This officer has a mortgage, student loans, car note, and everyday expenses. She is at risk of losing all that unless our community steps up. We always have in the past and we will now. The family is aware and approves of this campaign by The Police Association of Lafayette Local #905 and anyone is welcome to confirm the authenticity of this campaign by contacting Abbeville Police department or The Police Association of Lafayette through our FB page or email which can be located on our website. We will not be releasing the name of the police officer at this time for safety reasons.
