Abandoned Pit Bull found in Desert
Donation protected
Donations needed; driving 40mph down a dry river bed in the middle of the desert we came across an abandoned pitbull. Thought he was dead, but when we went closer we discovered he was not.
We found him in the Lake Mead recreation area, on a wash road a mile from the freeway and twelve miles from the nearest car entrance, heading towards Las Vegas.
Took all of his strength to slightly wag his tail and try to move his head. Nose clogged with dirt and mud, and too dehydrated to drink. He’s well fed with trimmed nails, almost made it back to Las Vegas.
Took him to West Russell Animal Clinic, he has a severe lung infection, and an eye infection. On fluids and antibiotics. Care has already passed $1000 and further care is needed, asking for matching funds. Vet estimates he's about four years old.
If you’re the praying type, they’re appreciated. If you can contribute, it will help to further his care. I believe he's a fighter, and would like to allow him time to recover with your help. To be blunt, with all available treatment the Vet gives him a 50/50 chance of recovery. He's also shown his ability to walk ten miles through a desert over several days with no food or water, confused and trying to find his owner.
I believe he's a fighter, with our help he has a chance to recover.
