Abandoned ER visit for doggie

I normally wouldn’t ask for help but after 3 very hard months for myself personally, this added cost has quickly became too much for our family. However I couldn’t not help this poor guy out that we currently have been calling “Dook”.
He was found by another couple in the street and they couldn’t care for him, it was after hours for fort Irwin’s vet to be able to see him and no one at the time could help this injured dog who was at first thought to have been hit by a car. I volunteered to help and drove this dog to the emergency clinic 1.5 hours away. His injuries needed more examination than expected as well as him needing anesthesia.  After 8 hours and $900+ dollars in vet expenses later he is currently okayed from the doctor to be adopted but will be on medication (antibiotics and pain meds) for awhile and will eventually need to see a specialist about his leg which was said to have been an old injury that hasn’t healed yet. This injury may or may not heal properly but with good care and hope the doctor thought he was young and tough enough to make a good recovery (just not guaranteed).  Again I feel terrible for offering to help and then asking for help after but I have gotten way in over my head and need to reach out for help. As well as we are still looking for his new forever home. He deserves all the love in the world as he’s been the best boy!!! Please help us out!
