Abaaso Foods, a new plant-based foods company founded by the owner of the former, Brown Rice and Honey is looking to begin a weekend restaurant residency in downtown Madison, WI. To learn more about Abaaso Foods see below.
Our goal is opening a community oriented space to host an impeccably sourced family style brunch and dinner spot with grab and go pastries, every Sunday, with the potential to expand to additional days. We have secured a wonderful and intimate location in downtown Madison, now we just need to acquire the necessary funding to begin.
Your support will help us acquire the required licensing, initial ingredients, equipment, and staffing needs. We will keep you updated weekly on our progress towards launching. We are hoping to host our first service by June 2018.
Once our funding goal is met, we will announce the menu and dining schedule for the first few weeks of service.
About Abaaso Foods:
Chef Kristina Stanley, a member of the Red Cliff band of Lake Superior Chippewa, has launched a new business venture focusing on her Native heritage, and passion for meticulously sourced, and nutrient dense plant-based foods.
Abaaso Foods will begin as a wholesale and catering company focusing on vegan and gluten-free fare. We are working towards securing a spot in the new Madison Public Market which plans to break ground late 2018/early 2019.
Our vision for the new Public Market is a vegan deli, bakery, and grocery providing our popular plant-based products direct to consumers. Abaaso will focus on highlighting indigenous ingredients sourced directly from Native American tribes supplemented with local organic and foraged ingredients. We will serve a full line of vegan bakery, cheeses, meats, and deli sides. Abaaso will also provide made to order soups, salads, sandwiches, and small plates. We will also feature a selection of Native produced packaged retail.
Establishing this restaurant residency will allow us an opportunity to raise funds and build our customer base as we work towards a full store-front in the Public Market. This will also provide our customers with an exciting chance to sample many of our products, and interact with our core team in a more intimate setting.
