Love Notes for Baby H - (IVF Funds)
Calling all wishbones, dandelions, lucky pennies, shooting stars, 11:11, birthday candles, and magic lamps – it's about time for you to do your jobs, so far, you're really sucking it up...
We aren't asking for the stars to align – just one tiny sperm and one tiny egg.
Infertility should be classified as an ugly four letter word; one that should never be spoken, heard, nor felt. For there is a unique and unexplainable kind of pain that comes from preparing a place in your heart for a child who never comes.
Infertility is a crippling and consuming trial. It evokes a sacred sadness, but not the kind of sadness where you cry all of the time, but more like a sadness that overwhelms your entire body, leaving your heart aching and your stomach empty. You feel weak and utterly tired, yet you can't sleep because the sadness is caught in your dreams too, it's almost a grief you can't seem to escape.

Infertility has held my best friend captive; she's been imprisoned in a baby-less world watching family after family grow around her. I know that Courtney and Bridger would never ask for monetary help from their family and friends, so it is my duty to rally for them.
Courtney and Bridger have been happily married for over 8 years. For the last 4 years, these two brave humans have battled infertility with the greatest of armor and the toughest of shields. The Harrison's have already spent thousands of dollars on doctor visits, specialists, labs, tests, shots, hormones, 2 surgeries, acupuncture, and 6 other unsuccessful fertility treatments.
It is now time for the grand finale, all chips must enter the pot, there is only one option left – In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). In Vitro Fertilization is an assisted reproductive technology (ART) commonly referred to as IVF. It is the process of fertilization by manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish, and then transferring the embryo into the uterus.
This procedure costs over $20,000 and health insurance is no friend to infertility. This is a heavy feat for a couple who has already spent their life savings praying for those double pink lines. As I said earlier, we aren't asking for the stars to align – just one tiny sperm and one tiny egg.
With a simple but earnest plea, we ask for you to be the Harrison's wishbones, dandelions, lucky pennies, shooting stars, 11:11, birthday candles, and magic genies... please help to grant their deepest and most heartfelt wish – let's join together to make them PARENTS.
A sincere thank you for your generosity, kindness, hope, and happy thoughts.
“The English language lacks the words to mourn an absence. For the loss of a parent, grandparent, spouse, child or friend, we have all manner of words and phrases, some helpful some not. Still we are conditioned to say something, even if it is only “I’m sorry for your loss.” But for an absence, for someone who was never there at all, we are wordless to capture that particular emptiness. For those who deeply want children and are denied them, those missing babies hover like silent ephemeral shadows over their lives. Who can describe the feel of a tiny hand that is never held?”
― Laura Bush, Spoken from the Heart
I am Courtney Harrison's best friend. I will be withdrawing the funds in my name (Shiann Chambers) and directly transferring them to Baby H's baby fund via Chase Quickpay.
A tender and beautiful THANK YOU must be delivered to each and every one of you. Sometimes, miracles are just good people with kind hearts.
Signed with giddy shrieks and a full-on happy dance,
