The American Anthropological Association is celebrating the life of Ruth Benedict throughout the month of June by raising money for the AAA Internship Program!
Help us celebrate Benedict's June 5th birthday by contributing just $5, or aim bigger and make a $22 contribution in honor of her first year teaching at Barnard College. Every bit helps as we work to preserve the future of this program!
The AAA Summer Internship Program was created eight years ago to provide an opportunity for two undergraduate anthropology students the chance to jump-start their professional journey through hands-on experience.
The program was created to be an economically inclusive opportunity. Running the program costs $4,000 per intern each year and thus far the program has been supported entirely by member donations. To secure the future of this important program, the AAA created an endowment fund to support the program in perpetuity. We need to raise $200,000 by 2020 for the endowment and as of May 2018 we're just over a quarter of the way there.
