Help a Writers Dream Come True

Hello,
My name is Michael Melville, and I am pursuing my dream of becoming a novelist. Dreams and goals are important, and it took me many years, successful and unsuccessful endeavors to find my real passion in life. That passion is writing. In 2012, when I was 33 I self-published my first novel, a 578-page contemporary romance, called Running Northwest.
That book took four years to write and finally publish, and I was incredibly proud as I had many doubters along the way. Since I was new to the business of writing and publishing, I made a few rookie mistakes along the way. I trusted the wrong people, made some hasty choices. Those mistakes and choices taught me some valuable lessons.
I am quite pleased to announce that my second novel, All the Roads Home (The Oregon Series: Book 1) was released on January 15th, 2016. This novel took a lot of work and I am particularly pleased with the cover made by Victor Fuentes. The early reviews seem quite promising.
Last August my son Jax Michael was born who is now a year and a half old. He changed our lives forever (my fiancé Stacey and myself). At 35 years old, I had no idea how incredible being a father would be, how great it would feel and how happy he would make me. I also had no idea how much of a burden my dream and burgeoning career as a novelist would be on my small family both in time and finances.
Outside of writing, I want my son to know that his dreams matter, that he doesn’t need to choose a particular route because it’s safe, or others say he should. I want him to know he does not have to have his choices made FOR him. I want to be his inspiration to eventually seek out his own dreams when he is older. I feel the best way that I can do that is by staying the course and not giving up on my own.
My campaign is asking for donations which I will put towards post-release marketing for All the Roads Home and the costs of writing and publishing the second book in the Oregon series called The Diner which will be out in the Fall of 2016. The goal amount isn't enough to cover the total projected cost but will help me cover a large portion of it and give me a good start.
Now, you might be asking yourself, “So Michael where will this money go?”
Well, I will not be blowing it that is for sure. Honestly, I have no problem with a little transparency considering I am asking anyone who is willing to support my dream and my business for help in getting it off to the best "re-start" as possible. The money donated to my campaign will go toward everything on the list below and nothing else.
1. My editor for an already agreed upon fee.
2. My cover/graphic designer Victor Fuentes for his services in designing from scratch: The All the Roads Home ebook cover, The All the Roads Home print edition cover and The Books by Michael Melville website ( which you can see by clicking here )
3. Post-release marketing and advertising on the internet using services from professionals with expertise in this particular area. These services could include but are not limited to Book Blasts, Cover Reveals, Twitter Campaigns, Blog tours and other things in an effort to get my new novel out in front of as many people as possible.
I hope you can see, I clearly have the desire and now a plan of action. Everything donated will go towards what was listed above. Please consider this campaign and all the hopes and dreams that may come to fruition because of it. By donating It will allow me to push forward with my current project and business while still providing for my family with fewer concerns and stress on us all. I greatly appreciate any donations regardless of the dollar amount since it all adds up. I appreciate even more that you took the time to hear me out.
