Ireland Mission Trip

Donation protected
Over the past several years I have been feeling the push for me to serve on mission. I have been praying diligently about this and feel as if this is part of my journey to serve God and his people. Over the past several years God has had an impact on my life in remarkable ways. I have learned the urgency to depend on him for all things and have grown in relationship with him. Grace Point Church will be leading a mission trip to Wexford Ireland, about two hours south of Dublin, October 11-18, 2014. The mission team will be working with Grace Point member missionaries Rob and Joany Wills, who have relocated from Texas to Ireland to become fulltime missionaries. They have opened a charity shop for the community and work with a local church to build services for the community. We will be working in whatever capacity that they see the need for. Some activities mentioned would be helping to organize new donated clothing in the charity shop, leading church services, leading children’s activities at the church, and helping with maintenance and improvements for the church. Now most people ask – Why Ireland? This is not the first country that comes to mind when thinking about mission trips. Although Ireland is not a third world country there remains much religious oppression due to years of political agendas providing for negative connotations towards Christianity and the church. The mission of Rob and Joany has been to break these negative views and for people to see the real truth and goodness of the Christian spirit. I am writing for specifically two requests. First, and foremost, I ask for prayer support for me and for my team. This being my first mission trip I am truly excited yet nervous to go outside of my comfort zone and share with strangers my story and to serve others. Prayers to help guide me through this would be greatly appreciated. Since we are the first mission team to provide support for the missionaries, I also ask that you pray for the team as we serve where need be and to determine new needs for future mission teams to serve. Second, I ask that you might consider offering any financial support possible. Each team member is responsible for raising $2400 by August 31st to cover flight, meals, and transportation. The church in Ireland offers lodging and our team will take cost cutting measures to ensure the money is used to serve others and not ourselves. I have placed the deposit of $200 to secure my position on the team. Another way of supporting our team is to donate any gently used clothing items for the charity shop to use in Ireland. If you are able to provide support, you may make a tax-deductible donation to Grace Point Church. I have enclosed a form that explains how to make this donation for the mission trip. Please know that your financial support will allow our team to share the Gospel to the people of Ireland. Information about donating online is also included. All money raised will go to Ireland. Due to IRS regulations no money is refunded in the event I am unable to go due to unforeseen circumstances and your donations will support the team and ministry. You will receive a tax donation statement in January the year after our trip. I cannot wait to share with you my experience and pray that this trip will forever place an imprint on my heart and how I choose to live my everyday. Any and all donations are helpful and equally appreciated whether it is by prayer, financial support, or donated clothing. Thank you for your support and time,
Nicci Elbel [email redacted]
