I'm Scott Colbert, a cofounder of the Supernaughts. I'm a published author, podcaster, blogger, writer, editor, and chief cook, and bottle washer. When we began the site, it was mostly to have a home for our podcast, and we quickly learned that a weekly show wasn't enough content to keep going, and so we expanded a bit. I brought my acclaimed articles about the top genre directors over, started my own podcast, and slowly we brought others on board to fill out the roster and the site.
Unlike other geek/pop culture sites we don't strive to bring exclusives, and update with the latest news. No, our interests lay deeper. We aim to bring content that interests us, as well as our visitors. Whether it's Asimov Lives sci-fi articles, the many, many film reviews, retro reviews, music reviews, comic book reviews, anime reviews...well, you get the idea. There's something for everyone.
From the beginning we've been ad free. Making money, even to simply sustain a site is very difficult, especially when ad blocker software is so prevelant on mobile devices as well as home PC's.
This is why I'm here. Think of this as a PBS fundraiser. If you'd like to keep our lights on,+ keep the site ad free, we ask for your assistance. Every little bit helps, even if you simply share this link, that will help.
To keep SN running for a year, the following expenses have to be met:
Monthly hosting - $90.00 x 12
Domain names - $25.16 X4 (Yearly)
Content Delivery Network -$150 (Yearly or until depleted)
Powerpress Premium Statistics $5 (monthly)
Antispam articles and registration - $8 (yearly)
That's 1398.64 a year, or approx. 117 a month. Our most pressing need is the hosting fee of 90.00 which is due the beginning of November. Every cent will be spent on the site's upkeep, with a public ledger on the site showing where the money goes. We all volunteer our time to create the best content possible, and hope you can help keep that going! With your support we can grow even further, and perhaps at some point, offer to pay the hard working contributers to the site.
All money will be accounted for on the website, so you know where your assistance is going.
