Building a spaceship

Donation protected
When you gift this moment, you're giving 10-year-old Catlin more time to play LEGO with Mom.

This small donation means a child like Catlin can stay close to his family at Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon—a temporary home for families who must travel to Vancouver for their seriously ill child’s medical treatment. For Catlin, the best part of staying at the House was building fantastical worlds of LEGO with his Mom.

The Walkus Family
When Catlin was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder called Aplastic Anemia, his mother left their home in Port Hardy for BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver. For over 100 days, Catlin received treatment, while the Walkus family were able to stay together at Ronald McDonald House.

About RMH BC & Yukon
For over thirty years, Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon has been providing accommodation for seriously ill children and their families when they must travel to Vancouver for their child’s major treatment. The House serves 2,000 families each year in 73 spacious suites.

On June 2, 2014, the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Surrey Memorial Hospital was also opened. A House within the hospital, the Ronald McDonald Family Room serves over 700 families each year, and is a welcoming refuge for families of children admitted for treatment.
