Help me finish college

If you've ever taken out student loans then you know how much of a struggle it can be to even get the process going. Since August my Mother and I have been in a constant feud with the IRS, trying to get a certain document that was preventing me from receiving my grants/loans through FASFA. Throughout this semester I kept assuming the best and hoped everything would get sorted out so this financial burden I had with KU would go away. My current job at the boys & girls club of Lawrence Kansas pays just enough to afford living and other expenses while FASFA loans/grants pay my tuition. After multiple failed attempts with the IRS, about a week ago (11/30/18) my mother received a notice that the document I needed to receive aid was being processed and would be delivered in the mail in 6-9 weeks. While this is good news, it still does not help me for this semester given the time frame. Its just simply too late because my account balance must be paid before I can re-enroll for next semester. With deadlines passing and numerous meetings with my Financial Aid Advisors at KU, I was given two alternatives. The first option was to take out private loans which, unfortunately, isn't an option. I don't have a qualified cosigner (which is required by private loans) who is willing to sign on my behalf. Therefore, making it impossible to get approved. My other option was to take a year off school to work and then pay off the balance that will eventually acquire hundreds of dollars in late fees. With me in my junior year, this option would not only set me back in my studies but would hinder my ability to finish college. Working while being a fulltime student already brings a lot of stress and adding this financial burden only makes it worse.  I've exhausted all of my options, including private loans making this my last attempt at making this work.
