I am raising funds for Acupuncturists Without Borders. They help first responders and fire victims. We have 18 fires burning in California. They are in Ukiah and Redding for the next 2 weeks. They are setting up clinics in several locations. Please donate $25 - $50 or $100 so we can help them. Acupuncture helps reduce stress, calm, and restore balance to the body.
In 2018, we have responded to the shooting in Parkland, FL, the volcanic eruptions in Hawaii, the ongoing crisis in Puerto Rico, the situation with migrant detainees at the US border, and will likely be called upon to coordinate similar disaster relief efforts in the US and internationally. In 2017, AWB provided thousands of treatments in Texas, Florida, Las Vegas, Puerto Rico, and California communities devastated by hurricanes, floods and fires. Please help us rebuild our Disaster Ready Fund so that we are prepared to respond.
The use of acupuncture for drug addiction led to its use for the prevention and treatment of trauma. Research in the past decade has shown that acupuncture is a helpful somatic therapy that rebalances the brain after significant stress, as well as the nervous and hormonal systems. Acupuncture treatment, especially shortly after exposure to traumatic events, can help prevent the development of post-traumatic stress (PTS). With more extended treatment, acupuncture can also restore resiliency for those who suffer from long-term PTSD.
