A unique cello for Catarina

Donation protected

Hello everyone :)

As many of you might know it has been my dream since I'm little to be a professional cellist.
I had a very particular (red/ yellow) cello, for wich I was very known for 12 years, wich served its purpose until now. Unfortunatley it really needs to be replaced, due to its humble limitations, as advised by my mentors and colleagues. Although I’ve been able on several occasions to borrow better instruments, it is not a permanent solution. As a professional musician I need a better instrument but it's a very big investment that I'm not able to do alone.

Finding the right instrument is like finding a life partner. After dedicating much time to this search, I have finally found an instrument which perfectly suits my needs and my playing. It is a beautiful German cello and I feel that it fits me perfectley. Unfortunately, the instrument is to valuable for me to afford on my own, but I am determined to do everything I can in order to purchase it.

Therefore I thank everyone who would be generous and kind enough to help make this dream of mine come true (even if it's the smallest help). Every small gesture is welcome and precious.

I know it's a lot to ask so: a big thank you in advance!

Born in Lisbon, Catarina Koppitz began her musical and cello studies by the age of 6.
During her musical career, she already participated in various Masterclasses with teachers of great relevance.
It's also to be noted that she worked with renowned conductors as Simon Rattle, Valery Gergiev amongst others.
Catarina has a passion for the orchestra world and the orchestral repertoire: She is a backup cellist in the Gulbenkian orchestra and she was recently a member in the PMF (Pacific music festival), in the year of 2017, and the Gustav Mahler Academy 2018. As an orchestra member she got to play in some of the most important halls in Europe and even the world like the Berliner Philharmonie or the Kitara Hall.

The young artist was already awarded with distiction in various competitions, which gave her the opportunity to present herself as a soloist and perform pieces of the great cello reportoire. Catarina is a scholar of the „Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now“ Verein since 2017 and had during that same year the honor of having been awarded the Deutschlandstipendium.

Currently she is attending her last year of Bachelor of music in the Robert Schumann Hochschule, Düsseldorf, where she studies with professor Gregor Horsch.
