A Trip For Cole

Losing a friend or loved one is never a timely matter. It's not exactly something you plan for until it happens. I'd say “I” or “we”, but I believe the world has recently lost one of the best of our kind.

His name was Cole Proffitt. He was the embodiment of compassion; a true angel on Earth. He was kind, loving, humble, & enthusiastic. Easy to talk to, get along with, a friend to all. He had a smile that could light up a room and a presence that could soften any situation. It's hard to believe such a beautiful soul has passed on. :(

This brings me to my current predicament. I'm currently living in Hawaii and plan on attending my friend's services which are being held this week in Pennsylvania. In my heart of hearts, I believe I'm meant to be there. He would do the same for me if the circumstances were flipped.

As such, I've already booked a flight on credit for January 2nd, 2017 and will be there regardless. The main objective behind this fundraiser is to offset some of the costs of airfare.

The fund amount  presented ($1400) is strictly airfare. (See Photo below) No checked bags or additional travel costs included.

All options I selected were within the “economy” (bare minimum) level while keeping all variables in mind (dates & times of visitation & funeral services, time off of work, cost effective dates, short notice, etc.)


I realize taking this trip is my choice and therefore my responsibility. The difference will be resolved one way or another. But instead of taking the stance of “I can do it all” or “Mr. Independent,” I've decided to swallow my pride and ask for assistance  in hopes of making matters a little easier to manage.

Covering the balance sooner is preferred, but at the absolute latest it is necessary by February 27th.

There are a thousand pressing issues occuring in the world at any one point in time. I understand this is one among many. I respect your view whatever your choice may be.
