A second chance for Mookie

Hogan (our first love) loves other dogs and we knew he would be so happy to have a 4-legged friend around permanently. We searched for a rescue who was good with kids, and other dogs, was young and in overall good health. We saved for weeks to bring Mookie home, and we knew we would need to make changes to accommodate another dog. It means double the vet visits, double the pet insurance, double the food, boarding fees ,etc. .Our adoption process with Mookie was rough, to say the least. Don't get us wrong- he is an affectionate, adorable boy who loves his family and everyone who walks into our home. He kennels well, doesn't have any accidents and he loves to play. We love him very much. However, the agency we adopted him from did not disclose his health problems or behavior concerns to us. They furthermore deny they had any knowledge of these, and have since proven to be unreliable and disreputable. We are aware that there are people with hearts of gold who have many more resources that could have been a perfect match for Mook, but even though we adopted him under false pretenses, we know the right thing to do is to save him.  We have debated heavily, all week, about how to move forward. Our home has become a prison, for our family including our doggos. If Mook goes back to an agency, he will likely be destroyed due to his dog-aggression. And obviously, we cannot keep living in a divided house. We also cannot ignore the fact that our financial resources have reached their limits. We realize that you assume these problems as your responsibility when you adopt, but if we are truly honoring our agreement to do our best by him, we need to ask for help.
