A Rose for our Rose

Bay City Central Class of 1978 Classmates and friends,
What an amazing experience it was to see everyone at our recent reunion.  I think we all can appreciate the long road we have all travelled since we last walked the hallowed halls of Bay City Central.

As a group of shaggy long-haired kids that grew up in the 70's, we have shared many of the same life experiences. What a relatively innocent age it was (or was it because we were all so innocent?) compared to this complex world we live in today.

My most treasured time during our reunion was to reconnect with my dear friend Rose Trahan Cipriano. I am sure it was the same for many of you as well. We all knew her in high school as the joyful prankster, amazingly talented swimmer and friend to all. She had a smile for everyone and a big heart to match! There was a reason we voted her to be our own Homecoming Queen!

I think most of you know the story of the tragic events in 2012 that severely impacted their lives, leaving Rose responsible not only for her own recovery but for the recovery, both physically and emotionally, of her children.  The daily struggles to manage the family schedule, on-going medical care and constant seizure watches are overwhelming. It is a situation that most of us find unimaginable.

While Rose's community of family and friends has been instrumental in their amazing road to recovery, I thought it would be fitting for our class to contribute to their continued healing.

I am asking for your help to create funds that would specifically be earmarked for a year's worth of a prepared meal delivery plan for two  or three evenings per week for our beautiful and courageous classmate. To donate directly, please go to https://gofundme.com/a-rose-for-our-rose

Here are additional ways to get more updates and information on their amazing journey of recovery:

Whatever forum you choose, your contributions will be most appreciated as our dear friend and classmate continues on her journey of healing and recovery.
