A New Home for David

As many of you may know, David Bangean, an incredible friend and kindhearted young man, suffered a spinal stroke late last year that left him paralyzed from the neck down and completely dependent on a ventilator. After many tests, doctors diagnosed David with a very rare spinal stroke called fibrocartilaginous embolism in which there is no treatment but only hope for preventing complications and maintaining the quality of life in any way possible.  As his friends and family, we are so grateful that many of you donated during the initial crisis and visited David, pouring out so much love for this amazing man.

     After months of staying in the hospital and a rehab center in Atlanta, GA, David and his family have moved into a relative's home in Gallatin, TN as their old house could not accommodate his new medical needs. He continues to inspire and encourage many with his never-ceasing joy and hope despite his circumstances but the new life lives comes with many different challenges and financial stresses.

     David and his family have been blessed by many with assistance in planning for a new home that will accommodate the whole family, and more especially, David’s needs. The developers of Fairway Farms in Gallatin, TN have generously donated a beautiful lot for a future home to be built on and Wheeler Construction of Hendersonville, TN is committed to building at a minimum cost. However, there are still many costs associated with this future home. These costs are a heavy burden as David's parents are now his constant caregivers; his mother cannot leave him to go back to work and his father has recently been re-employed at his previous work place, with a reduced schedule that will allow him to still assist in David's care. 

     To assist with these costs, David's friends and family have set up this GoFundMe and are also hosting a fundraiser at Bagsby Ranch, (1628 Long Hollow Rd., Gallatin, TN 37066), on August 7th, 2018 (5PM-8PM). Everyone is invited as Bagsby Ranch has graciously welcomed us at no cost. Your presence would be a delight and an honor. Light refreshments will be provided and David will share a few words.
