A Miracle for Lisa Newmarket, ON

Peter Platt suffered a major stroke in December.  Recovery has been slow and Peter still struggles with speech, mobility and daily living activities.   Most recently, surgery to re-attach his skull was delayed due to swelling.

While Peter struggles to recover, his amazing wife, is fighting the battle of a life time.  Fighting to advocate for Peter, while being a mom to their 3 school aged children.  

Peter's long term disability does not kick in till the 6 month anniversary of his illness and at only a fraction of working income. 

Savings are depleted and Lisa is struggling to keep up with increased cost.   

Lisa smiles though the tears, and tries to stay upbeat for Peter and the boys, but her reality is she is drowning in bills and may not be able to save the family home without a miracle.   Medical expenses, taxes, mortgage payments, and school aged children have put this family at risk of losing their home.  

Imagine having to move the children away from friends, school, teachers and  a community that have been so emotionally supportive.   A time, when children need the support most, as they come to terms with Dad's disability.    Without a miracle, this may be their reality.

Imagine, telling her husband, who is fighting hard to recover, that they may no longer have a home.   If a miracle happens, and the home is saved, any excess money will go to retro fitting the home to accommodate Peter, his wheelchair and his disability.
