A Home for Ra

Greetings Dear Relatives!

 

I'm writing to you from a beautiful acre of rural land in Tiwa territory / Edgewood, NM. I am excited to announce that I was gifted the funds to be able to put a down payment on this land & I'm now making monthly payments of $500 a month through a Real Estate Contract. The land will be fully paid off in 5 years. It was a ceremony friend, who also happens to be a realtor & a descendant of the Tiwa people that helped me find this land. As I write this, I'm actually camping here as I'm not in a position to afford a rental on top of these monthly payments. I'm also loving it here & determined to see this dream come to life. This land was manifested through a dream of obtaining property for both myself to live a more quiet life on as well as for the offering of QTBIPOC community gatherings & ceremonies. This gift to put a down payment on the land was given to me by a supporter who wishes to remain anonymous. Their motivation was to support me as an Elder Two Spirit Boricua Taino Medicine Carrier who is now walking in this world with an invisible disability called Lyme Disease. Although, there's much I'm able to physically do & accomplish, the way I move in the world has had a dramatic shift. I can no longer "hustle" to survive like I used to. I must move in the world at a much slower pace than many & my nervous system is now more sensitive to the urban stimuli I've lived around all my life. So it truly is a blessing that I am here on this land now. However, I do need a solid structure here sooner than later.

 

I've done some research on various home options & I've found one that is both sustainable, long lasting, low cost & will provide the space I need to live comfortably.

I'm trying to raise at least 20k in order to put a large down payment on the home, which totals $31138.03 including taxes & set up, so that the remaining monthly payments will not exceed $200 a month. This, combined with my land payments ($500 a month) would keep me at $700 a month in total for this Home/Land & that's the max that I can afford due my weekly workload limitations.

 

As mentioned above, this Home/Land will also be a place for QTBIPOC gatherings & ceremonies. Therefore, your contributions will most definitely have ripple effects within the QTBIPOC community at large. Can you help bring this dream to fruition? All contributions are greatly appreciated!
