A Home for Peta

Home is where the heart is.  It's an old saying and so true for my dear sister Peta, for the many years she spent happily bustling around her home.  As a single mum, she doted on her beloved children, baking day-in and day-out in her kitchen, turning out beautiful cakes and delicious desserts that she would sell to put food on her family's table.

Peta always found a way to live within her means and I know that if it were up to her, she would have been able to keep the home that she so adored.  Unfortunately at the time, her now divorced husband forced her to sell the house in order to pay debts that he had accrued before their marriage, debts that she was unaware of and had no part in.  Now, her home - her heart - has been torn away from her, and though we have tried to help, our efforts have not been enough to replace what she has lost.  It is our hope that anyone who sees this campaign will find it in their heart to give what they can to assist Peta in raising a deposit for a modest home in her time of need.

Peta is an honest, generous, loving person who has spent the majority of her life giving selflessly to her family, friends and neighbours.  She is not the type to ask for charity, which is why we are asking for help on her behalf.  Despite her hard work, going so far as to take on a second job to pay the bills, Peta remains without a home to call her own.

Our family recently gave Peta a holiday in an effort to lift her spirits, and she spent a lot of time cooking and cleaning in the holiday home we rented, working to give back even when she could have been relaxing.  Still, towards the end of the holiday - the first one she had had in many years - Peta was left teary-eyed with gratitude.

Our heart breaks to see Peta in such circumstances, struggling to buy food, battling health issues, and lacking the one thing that had meant so much to her - a home big enough for her family to visit including her precious grandchildren, as her current rented unit is too small.  I would be absolutely delighted to see Peta once again tending her own garden, baking in her own kitchen, and living in her own home, where she can dote on her family once more.

With this campaign, we hope to raise enough money for Peta to be able to put down a deposit on a house.  If you can spare anything, we would be forever grateful.  We also ask that you share the link to this campaign on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media.

Every dollar you contribute is a dollar that goes to giving a deserving woman her home back.  As her sister, I truly thank you, and I know that Peta thanks you as well.

Love, from her sister Kim.
