Have A Heart For Anary

Anary Suazo was born with a heart disease on March 3, 2006.   Her first open heart surgery was at just 7 days old. The surgery took 8 hours.  At the same time a mickey button was placed in her stomach to help her eat.  Anary remained in the hospital until April 3, 2006.  Her first surgery was to place a t-shunt to improve the blood to flow to the right side of her heart because the right side did not develop normally.  Doctors gave Anary 9 months to live.  With no improvement and her health at risk, her second open heart surgery was done knowing it was a two step surgery.  The first step was a single ventricle fountain.  The second step, and her third open heart surgery, was done in May 2008 at just over 2 years old.  Her health was okay after that with special requirements such as making sure she ate correctly, high calorie diets, and isolating her from colds and other germs.  Her mickey button was taken out at 12 months of age because she was just such a great eater.  She still follows good eating habits eating only fruits, vegetables, and meats; no candy or sodas.  In March 2010, at the age of 4, Anary had an accident at school where she broke her left arm.  Due to her arm not being mobile she developed pleural effusion.  With medication and heart catheterizations she managed to keep that under control.  Now Anary is 12 years old.  She started feeling tired and sick about 2 months ago.  Not knowing why, she was taken to see her pediatrician on May 1, 2018 and all of her levels seemed to be okay.  A week later, on May 9, after vomiting all day and her energy levels being low, Anary ended up at her pediatrician's office again, but now her oxygen level was in the 70's.  Anary ended up in the emergency room for an echocardiogram because her doctors wanted to do more evaluations.  They decided to admit her into the Tulsa St. Francis Children's Hospital that same night.  Her family thought she was going to bounce back after that virus like she has always done, however, they were mistaken.  After several tests, her cardiology team decided that after 3 weeks of being at the St. Francis Children's Hospital in Tulsa it was time for Anary to meet the heart transplant team in St. Louis, Missouri.  On May 30, 2018 she was transported by air to the St. Louis Children's Hospital where Anary stayed for practically a month undergoing further tests and treatment.  Anary's doctor's believe Anary needs a heart transplant, however, Anary's anatomy is extremely unique meaning there is nobody else with her condition and only 30 cases similar to hers in the country.  The percentage of a heart transplant failing for Anary is about 15%-20%. With this being said Anary's parents discussed the possible outcomes with Anary and asked her what she wanted to do, after giving her all the options.  Anary's answer was, "I want to keep fighting and I don't want to go to heaven yet".   Anary has dreams she wants to reach, therefore, her parents decided to list her and give her a chance to fight and it will be one hell of a fight.   The doctors are giving Anary 4 to 6 months before she becomes very very ill and will have to be transported back to St. Louis to wait inpatient at the hospital for a heart donor, and then of course a very long stay in the hospital, thereafter, for the recovery after the surgery takes place.  Please help Anary and her family as they undergo this uphill battle towards a healthier, happier, and longer life for Anary.  We all want her to be able to see her dreams come true.  God bless to all!
