A Haus for Dieter

Dieter d'Alquen started the Donut Haus in Estes Park in 1975, known by the locals and visitors as "Dieter's Donuts".  He made the most amazing donuts, breads, cakes, cookies and everything was made with love. Dieter came from Germany when he was 21 and served in the United States Army before moving to Estes Park and starting the Donut Haus.  Many people who visited Estes Park in the 23 years Dieter owned and operated the Donut Haus made it a point to stop each time they were in town. In March of 2014 his only child was killed in an accidental off-shore explosion; losing Franz devastated Dieter. Unfortunately, the home that Dieter has been living in for the past five years is being sold. The house will be on the market soon and, ideally, Dieter would like to make an offer on that property. Unfortunately, without your assistance, Dieter will not be able to afford a down payment on that property. This campaign has been launched with the goal of purchasing this property; a place where Dieter is comfortable and familiar, and in which he can remain convenient to family and friends.
