Hope through IVF for Lea&Dan Hale

Lea and I found eachother almost 7 months ago, after the story of the loss of her sweet baby boy Gunnar crossed my Facebook newsfeed. When I saw the pictures of her beautiful boy, I felt compelled to connect. As a Mother of two boys the story hit close to home.
Gunnar left this beautiful earth after 1000 kisses from his Mom and Dad. As Lea often says, "he kissed us goodnight and just flew off to heaven". No rhyme or reason. Gunnar was a strong, healthy almost 2 Year old boy who's passing has been diagnosed as Sudden Unexplained Death of a Child (SUDC). There may never be a clear reason as to why Gunnars sweet footprints dance across the clouds instead of down here on the sand.
Dan and Lea were married 4 years ago, and have always dreamed of having a big family. Gunnar was a miracle, as Dan and Lea learned they would not be able to conceive without medical intervention.
Lea has described Motherhood as natural as breathing. She enbodies the role, and having children defines her heart and fills her life with meaning beyond words.
Dan, found in Gunnar, a friend, a side kick and the love of his life.
Over the months Lea and I have been talking, most of our conversations are about getting through the day, putting one foot in front of the other and beginning to find direction again.
I now find our conversations shifting as Lea and Dan look to rebuild hope, to piece their lives together in a way they never imagined... and in the search of how to do that, they have begun to want to grow their family.
Gunnar was a gift brought to them through the process of IUI. They have tried this medical procedure again and this time around, it is not enough. They need IVF in order to bring new life into their family. Each treatment is upwards of $7000 dollars and because of what happened to Gunnar, additional genetic testing is essential. Lea was a stay at home Mom and Dan is just returning to work after leave for 7 months. They need support in so many ways, but to grow their family would be the greatest gift. To feel life within the walls of their home, to grow Gunnar's legacy through the laughter and love of a sibling; this is a process of faith, love and hope.
I ask of you, to be a miracle for Dan and Lea. While I know so many of you offer support on a regular basis, the picking up of the pieces is forever a work in progress, for their is no end to the grief when you lose a child.
No matter how small, please consider a gift so that Lea and Dan can continue to grow their family... and for Gunnar, who will be the most powerful angel in heaven watching over his family here on earth.
