This is my nephew Aeden Valera. His parents are Angel and Gilda Marcos Valera. Aeden is 8 years old and a 3rd grader at Wilcox Elementary School. He was recently diagnosed on May 3, 2017 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia which is the cancer of the white blood cells. The family is staying at the Ronald McDonald house on Oahu while Aeden undergoes his chemotherapy at Kapiolani Women and Children Medical Center. During this time they are not working. Like all of us no place is better than your child's side during times of need. Their medical will only cover some but not all. This is why I am asking for the support of family and friends to come together during this tough time in their lives. The family is very grateful for your help and appreciative for the many prayers that have been received thus far. Blessings to everyone who reads this and to my brother and his family as Aeden undergoes an illness in which no young child should ever experience. In God we trust. Mahalo. Aileen Valera Ibanez

June 8, 2017. 3rd day of chemo for the Post Induction Phase and Aeden is tolerating it well. So far, no nausea or vomitting but his "used to be" very good appetite is decreasing. Did his 1st P.T. treatment due to knees and ankles weakness . He felt so tired after working with P.T - come to find out, his Hemoglobin is 7.3. Blood transfusion is scheduled tomorrow. Aeden and daddy will be staying in Oahu until next week friday. Hopefully, everything goes well. Please continue to pray for Aeden's complete healing. #Godisgood# #Allthetime#

June 1, 2017. Yay! We're finally going home to Kauai. Aeden did his last chemo yesterday for the Induction Phase. He's been responding and tolerating the chemotherapy well. Did not have nausea/vomitting. He didn't have blood transfusion yet, do far. God is really great. However, his hair started falling off so we decided to shave it off. PICC line was removed and Port-A-Cath was inserted yesterday. Thanks to our family, relatives, friends and even people that we don't know - for all their prayers well wishes. There is nothing impossible if you have faith in God. 1st day of the Second phase of his chemo will be on tues. June 6, 2017. Aeden is ready and so we are. He is brave and a warrior. To God be the Glory!
At Ronald McDonald house - our home away from home for more than 3 weeks.
