~A Breath Of Fresh Air~ Mary Jones

Mary was officially listed on the double transplant list 2 years ago where she was fairly low on the list and with her antibodies she wasn’t sure she’d ever have a match.  Now the day has come where Mayme(Mary) gets to take “a breath of fresh air” with her new set of lungs donated so selflessly by a beautiful soul that’s now able to watch over her from above.
Mary’s daughter Veronica says it best here, “We are so anxious to watch her take those first incredible breaths and pray they be the moment she has asked Jesus for for so long. I'm not sure if it will be painful, I just pray it isn't. On our way to Rochester she said she wants to be able to dance, and walk across the room with ease, be able to eat a meal without struggling to breathe, do canon balls with Asher and Addy.... the list goes on and on. I can't imagine all of the things she will do with this amazing gift. I wish that you all could see the confidence and peace that she had.”

The surgery was a success, but as her doctors have stated the easy part is behind her, as she will now endure months/years of recovery.  We are looking to help out the family with the many trips to Rochester, the extended stays and the home that was rented only minutes from Mayo to bring Mary home to as she will have daily appts and to stay close to the transplant team.  We ask that you keep Mary and her family as well as the donors family close to your hearts and in your prayers in the weeks and months ahead.
