A Beautiful Problem

Have you ever wanted to build a church? Did you know that when you are a builder and founder of a church you will be prayed for as long as liturgies are being served in that church? Don't miss this opportunity for countless prayers!

So many people are flocking to Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in Salt Lake City. Our beautiful problem is that their church is bursting! They just baptized 10 adults at Pascha last week and are preparing 18 more are currently preparing for baptism! Metropolitan Joseph has asked them to build another church south of SLC in the town of Payson. This is one hour away and the people who have been driving one and two hours to church are so excited to see a church in their own back yard! Even Fr. Justin, the head priest, drives one hour to the current location!

Glory to God, they were already able to raise and then spend 400k on the purchase of this beautiful property! That has left them with very little to build the church. But, by the grace of God, we have received a HUGE blessing: a donor has stepped in and offered a $350k matching donation for the next 6 weeks!

This is an incredible blessing that we must take advantage of!

So, the bottom line is this: We have 6 weeks to honor this amazing matching donation by raising $350k to match his $350k. This would bring us to $700k. The current estimate for the building of just the church(without furnishings, icons, etc..) is around $800k. To furnish the church, icons, etc will be at least another $150-$200k. If all are generous I am hopeful we can raise not just $700k, but ALL the funds needed for the whole project!

This GoFundMe will begin by raising the initial $350,000 in just this short 6 week window. I know that with God's help we can do this. Your help is needed by sharing via social media and email, oh, yes, and by making a donation and saying a prayer for this parish! Once that happens we will bump the goal up to the 800 or 900k that is needed to complete this building by the time the Metropolitan comes in December this year!
