Donate to the 2016 Zoroastrian Games in Chicago
The Zoroastrian Association of Metropolitan Chicago (ZAC) is hosting the 2016 Zoroastrian Games (Z Games). The Z Games is an event that brings together Zoroastrians from across the world to participate in sports. This is the first time that the ZAC has hosted the Z Games. The Chicago Z Games Planning Team is trying to control costs and make sure that the games meet the participants' expectations, as well as the requirements set by FEZANA's Zoroastrian Sports Committee (ZSC).
The goal is to make sure that ZAC breaks even so the association does not have the burden of paying the cost difference. ZAC has received estimates from the previous costs of the Z Games which is about $200,000. The cost of securing the athletic and entertainment venues make up the greatest expense. In an effort to encourage more youth to participate, we also lowered the costs for youth athletes (Ages 7-15) for our games only package. The team has already had to cut non-essential activities to make the numbers work. As with all large events, there are always unanticipated costs and the Z Games budget has razor thin margins.
The Z Games Planning Team has set-up a 'Go Fund Me' website to allow the community to help us raise funds for this event. We would be very appreciative if the community would help pitch-in and help us to reach our goal of raising $10,000.
