YES students spend 45 hours a week for 38 weeks per school year. By the end of their Sophomore year, they will have spent 8,550 hours at the YES Prep North Central campus. Here the teachers, students and families all work together to ensure that 100% of the students are college ready. Since students spend the majority of their waking hours here at North Central it can be easy to forget about the world outside of YES. YES NC is about .022 square miles. In comparison, Houston is 620 square miles, the continental US is 160,820 sq. mi. and the world is 57,308,738 sq. mi. We are doing all that we can to prepare our students for college, their future and the world. Help them explore it!
Your donation will go to fund student opportunities for current 10th and 11th grade students. Some of these oppportunities include studying abroad to places like Finland, serving communities in Costa Rica and South America, experienceing outdoor leadership trips that are both mentally and physically demanding through the NOLS program, and experiencing democracy first hand in Washington, DC.
YES is a school that works closely with the communities that its students are from and a community of supporters is necessary in ensuring that our students have access to the same opportunities as their peers from more affluent backgrounds. Any contribution will bring our students one step closer to a life-changing opportunity.
