Will Greene's Fight Against Cancer

Here is an UPDATE from William's Mom Theresa:
"I have been on the verge of tears almost constantly since William Greene’s last doctors visit. First I was scared out of my mind; sometimes being an informed OR nurse is too much information. But as all mom’s do I got busy focusing on “how to fix this”. So I started the seemingly impossible task of gathering data about the Surgeon in Indiana that’s going to do the miracle working and putting the tools together to help him make a treatment plan. As I went from Hospitals to doctors’ offices to labs and finally to the post office to accomplish this I came across many angels among us. People went out of their way to help me, cried with me and prayed for us. Then our family began to get the news and like a true army getting ready for battle everyone began to offer their time, effort, prayers, and support. So Will and I are on our way to Indiana. We left with last minute paperwork from the Surgeon, a cooler of road trip treats and some extra $$ to help fund the trip; all from the rallying troops. I can never express to you all how thankful and grateful we are to have such a strong army of family fighting with us. Every text, call, and prayer reminds me of our love for each other and that God is truly carrying us through this time with all of you as His angels. My truly special Aunts also sent a bottle of holy water from the Shrine of St. Joseph’s where miracles have been documented. How could we not beat this with support like that! My heart is overflowing!"
William is currently on his way to Indiana to a cancer surgeon specialist to remove 2 lymph masses attached to potentially dangerous arteries/ veins. As Theresa said, this will be a miracle surgery (Surgery date scheduled for 12/8/17) but with everyone's prayers and love; we hope God and all the people involved will heal William. He needs our support now more than ever.
William will have to stay in Indiana for an extended period of time while he heals from the surgery and attends numerous doctors visits. So all prayers, all love and all donations are so greatly appreciated during this time! Let's rally around William and beat cancer once and for all!!

This campaign is for someone very special and I don’t say that because of who he is to me but because it’s the truth. Since day one, William has been a fighter. In his own words from a college essay he wrote, “I was born with an obstruction by the name of cleft lip cleft palate. When in the womb everyone has a cleft lip and palate, but more often than not the tissues of the upper mouth and lip convene in the middle and fuse. This meeting place is marked by a scar that everyone carries right beneath their nose and in the top of their mouth. In my case this normality was not to be.” William had to be stronger than the rest due to the cards he was dealt in life. But I must say that what we go through in life defines who we are, which is no different in William’s case.
In that same essay, William described coming to a conclusion at a very young age, “This is who I am and no matter what anyone thinks I will never change.” He has since lived his life with a purpose that is hard to encapsulate with words. William loves harder than most because he has known the feeling of being alone, he works harder than most because life was not given to him easily, he does not strive for everyone’s approval because in his heart he knows those that truly matter, he knows how to be supportive because of the support given to him by friends and family, he is more compassionate than most because he has unconditional acceptance for those who need it, endurance in life that is unwavering, and the courage to love with no bounds. Simply put, William is special and that will never change.
Now at 26 almost 27 years old, William has been dealt another card. He has recently been diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. The fighter that has fought all his life, must fight again. William will no doubt have a long and hard road ahead of him. He will need all the support from friends and family he can get.
William and his family would greatly appreciate any and all donations to help alleviate the financial stress during this time. All donations will help William focus on fighting this battle and becoming healthy once again. With gratitude that can’t be measured, we thank each and every one who donates as well as those who help support William’s campaign against cancer.
