The color white has always been synonymous with purity and virtue. And so, sincerity, purity, and chastity are some of the obvious meanings of a white rose.
The White Rose Project is composed of a group of community members, sincere about providing support and encouragement to new cancer patients in our local treatment centers. Our mission is to gather item donations relevant to the patient overcoming the harsh side effects of cancer treatment. Our cancer care packages contain a wide variety of items that assist the patient with everyday tasks, reduce nausea and dry mouth associated with treatment, offer entertainment and meditation throughout the day, and remind the patient that they are not alone in their journey.
Our program currently services up to 100 patients a month who are currently receiving services through Lafayette Cancer Center, Horizon Oncology, and Faith Hope & Love at Unity Healthcare in Lafayette, IU Health Arnett Cancer in Lafayette, Logansport Regional Cancer Center in Logansport, Marie Canine Cancer in Crawfordsville, and Community Howard Oncology Center and St. Vincent Cancer Center in Kokomo . To date (1/23/17), we have assembled and delivered 710 care package bags to newlu diagnosed cancer patients.
The White Rose Project needs your help! We are currently seeking community members willing to shop and donate items for our cause. I've provided a list of the high demand items our patients have requested. If you're unable to shop, please consider donating to this GoFundMe and one of our amazing group members will do all of the shopping for you!
