This War Is Not Inevitable!

In the chaos of WW1 Germany, Rudolf Steiner and Emil Molt risk everything to fight to shorten the War. 100 years later do we still have a chance?  This politicly charged, historical drama takes on challenging questions still unanswered today.  Join us.

This War Is Not Inevitable is a two-man play written by Michael Burton about the founding idea of Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner's Threefold Social Organism.
Set in Germany during WW1, the play follows Steiner and his relationship with famous entrepreneur Emil Molt. The two endeavor to stop the war by attempting to influence the Treaty of Versailles and the Reichstag in hopes that Steiner's philosophies on social, economic, and legal reform which he called The Threefold Social Organism, would be accepted.
This War is Not Inevitable! opened in February 2018 at the Kolisko Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii to an international audience of teachers, scholars, and doctors. From there it traveled through Southern and Northern California and all the way up through Portland, Seattle, Vancouver Island, and Vancouver. Audiences ranged from 15 to 150 members per night depending on the venue and location of the show. It was welcomed with open arms and great success, especially in Honolulu and Vancouver, where Michael and Christian spent several days prior to the show connecting with the community. The second half of the show traveled East to Toronto, Harlemville, NY, New York, NY and eventually ended in Kimberton, Pennsylvania.
Due to the high demand of the project, Lightweight Theater has decided to embark on a second tour of North America. The two-man play raked in about 20K dollars during the first tour. These expenses went towards travel, costume/props, lighting, and lastly, to pay its actors. It is important to note that the production is considered professional, and should, in turn, be handled as such. The importance of community through this endeavor is important to the core of the play and the play's message, but it should not diminish the fact that the production value is not community theater.
That being said, however, while the quality and effort are of professional nature, the production and production support are not, at this point, so. Therefore we must call upon the strength of the community (who, support this show in so many ways, such as housing, transportation and of course, audience) to assist in making the production possible!
Michael and Christian have, between them, been professionally trained in speech and drama, Shakespeare and modern rendition, have performed across Europe and North America.
