Debate Team for Wolfe Street

When I first visited Wolfe Street Academy shortly after moving to Baltimore, I immediately knew that it was just a little magical: Wolfe Street is a school with true community spirit, committed teachers, and motivated students. It's a space that cultivates resiliency among children & families, empowering them to overcome obstacles like English as a second language. Wolfe Street's reputation has even garnered the attention of the The New York Times & NPR. 

I have been working with their afterschool programming for two years, and this year, Wolfe Street asked me to coach their very first 3rd to 5th grade debate team!  Having never participated in a debate myself, I, of course, enthusiastically agreed. However, at the last minute, a grant fell through, and Wolfe Street cannot afford the $2500 fee to participate in the Baltimore Urban Debate League.

So I'm asking my friends and neighbors to chip in a couple of bucks to make sure that Wolfe Street Academy can continue to offer worthwhile opportunities like Debate Club to its students. Every child deserves a magical place like Wolfe Street, and your donation will provide just a little extra magic for Baltimore City kids.

Thank you - any money raised beyond the $2500 (hey, a girl can dream, right?) will go towards other Wolfe Street programs at risk due to funding shortages.
